SANTAFE SENIOR LIVING ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP TRANSITION
Troy Hart Named President
GAINESVILLE, Fla., December 17, 2008 SantaFe Senior Living announced today that it has named Troy Hart as its President, effective January 1, 2009. Hart, who serves as SantaFe HealthCare's Vice President of Senior Living Strategy and Development, will focus on the growth and strategic direction of SantaFe Senior Living, a preeminent organization of retirement living communities across Florida that provide a continuum of services in housing, healthcare and other programs.
Naming Hart President is a natural next step in the evolution of the organization, as resources and operations are realigned to accomplish significant growth and expansion initiatives, said Michael P. Gallagher, President & Chief Executive Officer of SantaFe HealthCare, the parent company of SantaFe Senior Living and its other affiliates, including AvMed Health Plans, Haven Hospice and SantaFe Village.
“Troy brings an outstanding combination of development, as well as high quality operational experience, in dynamic retirement communities that allow seniors to experience increasing levels of care and support. He has done an excellent job in developing and executing the senior living growth strategy at SantaFe HealthCare," Gallagher said. “As we focus on expanding and growing high quality retirement communities across Florida and the Southeast, Troy's leadership and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of seniors is an integral part of our strategy."
Hart has 25 years of experience developing, opening, operating and leading not for profit continuing care retirement communities. He has both regional and single site operational experience with planning, developing, marketing, constructing, and operating continuing care retirement communities and has been with SantaFe HealthCare since 2007.
“I'm honored and enthusiastic about the opportunity to lead our growth and expansion of high quality continuing care retirement communities in Florida and the Southeast," said Hart. “More and more seniors are making informed decisions about housing, health care and other programs to enhance the quality and dignity of life. It is a wonderful privilege to serve in all stages of the process to plan and develop dynamic, caring communities to meet seniors' growing needs."
SantaFe Senior Living retirement communities offer an environment rich in opportunities for personal growth, social interactions and wellness provided in amenity filled, resort like settings. North Florida Retirement Village (The Village) in Gainesville is a 104 acre community that serves more than 450 seniors. The Village is currently undergoing a $100 million major expansion, which will serve over 700 seniors when complete in 2009. East Ridge Retirement Village, located in The Town of Cutler Bay, is also in the final planning stage for a partial $125 million redevelopment of its lush, 76 acre campus. East Ridge serves 300 seniors. And, The Terraces at Bonita Springs, a new senior living community that combines independent, assisted living and health care in a $170 million, 350,000 square foot village, will be developed on the Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs, and scheduled to serve 300 seniors in 2012.
SantaFe Senior Living is a division of SantaFe HealthCare, a family of community based, not for profit organizations serving Floridians throughout all phases of life.
